There is no doubt. I joined up in 1997 and don't think it was much better.

When I arrived at Ft. Leonard Wood waiting for all to arrive, they put a movie on for us. One of the drill sergeants suggested they put on Stripes, and I heard the other one say it would ruin us all.

No Stripes, but we were a bunch of clowns anyway.
