My wife is going through this with her mother right now.

I’ve been reading Will I Ever Be Good Enough? by Karyl McBride, a psychotherapist who specializes in treating daughters of narcissistic mothers. One line, repeated a couple of times in the first few chapters, stood out to me: “The narcissistic mother puts pressure on her child to act and react to the world as she would.”
