It's easy to get discouraged when you play the lottery constantly and never win. I, for one, keep reminding myself that it's about my own writing and my own journey, and the results simply don't matter to me. 3+ years on Medium and I've never made more than coffee money, and there have been times I wanted to quit. Except that there really isn't anything else like it for a casual writer like me, so I always come back.
