I don't think it's an unpopular opinion, I think it's a relevant one. I don't disagree, but I think there's inherent danger in doing something to please someone else. That should be a side-effect, not the goal. Otherwise the results are tied to expectations.

You are right, though, women in the 40s take care of themselves much better than men. It gets harder for all of us as we age, and maybe it just slides further down the priority scale. I don't know, I'm just me. :)
